Last month we celebrated Dental Hygienist, Becky’s 30 Year Anniversary with Henderson Mill Dental Care. We appreciate her dedication to HMDC as she reached this milestone celebration of service. She is our third employee to reach the 30 year mark, which we believe is very special!
The 105th Annual Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting was held in Atlanta March 23rd to 25th at the Georgia World Congress Center. Staff and Doctors of Henderson Mill Dental Care attended various continuing education, lectures and social functions. Dr. Uetsuki and his wife, Melanie attended the keynote lecture on Thursday, which featured Dr. Sanjay Gupta as the guest speaker. Later that evening they both attended the annual General Chairman’s Reception honoring the 2017 Speakers and Hinman guests. The reception was held at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta.
Each year in February during dental health month Henderson Mill Dental Care representatives visit various local schools to help educate young students on the benefits of proper oral hygiene. As in years past, the schools were visited by either Becky or Izumi to teach students the importance of caring for their teeth, as well as proper techniques for brushing and flossing. They spend about 30 minutes with the students and make sure they have an understanding by engaging students with questions, props and sometimes a video. Our focus is on lower elementary students so they are able to develop an early foundation of good dental care. Each student leaves school with a goody bag, which this year included a pencil case, magnet, flossers, tooth brush and tooth paste.
On Saturday, December 10th Henderson Mill Dental Care Doctors and Staff were invited to the home of Dr. Uetsuki to celebrate the season. Our annual Christmas party proved to be another fun filled evening. Schedules were tight this year so we had fewer in attendance but the party ensued. Guests socialized over drinks and hors d’oeuvres prior to dining on seasonally prepared food by the talented chef, Jeff Haeger of Crooked Tree Cafe. Guests dined on slow smoked beef brisket, citrus brined chicken, quinoa cornbread stuffing, balsamic roasted brussels sprouts and brown butter sweet potatoes. We also enjoyed a delicious eggnog pudding with gingersnaps and Dr. Soulimiotis and his wife brought a divine white chocolate cake from A Piece of Cake.
On Halloween, Henderson Mill Dental Care celebrated by going back in time to the 1950’s. Our doctors and staff got into the costumed roles, and several staff members coordinated their efforts. Many of the ladies dressed as “Pink Ladies,” but we had other 50’s attire too. We were clothed in poodle skirts, lots of pink scarves, plaid shirts, cuffed jeans and leather. Our Team enjoyed treats for breakfast and a luncheon in the break room, which was creatively decorated by Business Assistant, Charlotte, who had came in on Sunday to surprise everyone. Charlotte brought in many delicious food items like homemade breakfast pastries, “mummies’ in a blanket, and specialty Halloween homemade cakes to share for breakfast and lunch. Staff also brought in a few items to share like meat balls, a dip and chocolate pretzel spiders. Throughout the day patients were asked which costume they liked the best. At the end of the day, Assistant, Korlu was awarded best costume. We unanimously agreed, and she was awarded with a basket of goodies that included an assortment of tea, coffee, chocolates, taffy, a mug, lotion and a candle.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for every person we interact with on a daily basis. We are proud to share with you some of the feedback received from both new and long-term Henderson Mill Dental Care patients, in their words.
